After some years of constant media bombardment that fast-food outlets are bad for our health, we now get the study released that suggests that actually restaurant foods are more unhealthy and contain on average more calories than fast-food.

Obviously I always feel still hungry after a quick meal and think that I am eating a lot of whipped up air when I am in a fast food restaurant.

Constant media information forms our opinion and our habits and it can be very unfair on us to choose what we think is best because of information we get put into our heads.

Health experts say meals should not exceed 600 calories, but in this study they averaged 1,033 in restaurants and 751 in fast-food chains.

Obviously the only reliable calorie¬†or content description we do get on pre-packed foods, which are labelled but then we get the ‘against plastic’ brigade who want to put us off those.

The government is currently consulting on a plan to introduce mandatory labelling in restaurants, takeaways and cafes, which is likely to finish in the new year.
