Being a swimming parent

I spent many years sitting pool side, watching training sessions, talking to other parents and learning from the experiences.

Most of my friends have more than one child, e.g. a younger and older sibling in the club. Most parents are very patient and spend literally hours pool side because more than one child has lessons at different times and the family stays until all siblings had a turn.

Many do homework with one child whilst the other(s) swim.

It can be very difficult indeed to combine working with the children’s swimming schedule, I found it almost impossible to do my shifts and could only manage through support from others or my child’s swimming career would have finished early.

But seeing how much kids really enjoy swimming, many try their utmost to enable their children to swim.
